A nice little comparison between the cycling in the U.S. and Europe, U.S. says under the title The Tour de France and fat Americans . Well, the article is more about obesity in the world and prejudices against the Americans, but I can assure you from personal experience, that's just a cliche.
To compare the tour and the Race Across America, however, about the same as compare to the Formula 1 with the rally (Paris) in Dakar, the former is always varied. In my eyes this is endslangweilig RAAM - no sprints, no summit finishes, not a time trial ... yawn!
Much more interesting to me is the question of why Lance Armstrong is not actually become thick or RAAM is down? Many Europeans have had more fun on the tour ... Okay, even with five Tour victories would scrape the doping investigators in the success of Jan Ullrich.
